BEN IS 34!??! OFF TO SEE THE "DISNEY" CASTLE
Fuessen is the home of Neuschwanstein Castle,
built by King Ludwig II (the “mad” king) in the 1800’s. It is the castle Walt
Disney designed the Disneyland castle after and is also the castle you most
often see in German tourism pictures. After dropping off our bags, we headed for
Marienbruke (Marien Bridge) to get the easily accessible view of Neuschwanstein
Castle. It is pretty awesome!
Rick Steves talks about the trail that goes
beyond and up the mountain past the bridge, so we headed up, where we had some
spectacular views.

and even higher! |
The views of the valley below and the lake are spectacular.
By the time we were done with dinner, the sun had come out as did some blue sky, so we took an evening walk.
We went into the outside courtyard to take a look around.
