WEDNESDAY, 7 MAY 2014 LAKE PEOPLE AND A JUNGLE TEMPLE

We got to sleep in today, because Sam didn't pick us up until 1000. An hour drive took us out to Tonle Sap.The TonlĂ© Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. It is unusual for two reasons: its flow changes direction twice a year, and the portion that forms the lake expands and shrinks dramatically with the seasons. The road down to the Mekong River where we would catch the boat revealed the lifestyle of the people living in this area.

Our boat driver. His dad was sick & sent him to guide us
Cemetery. They cremate their dead & put the ashes into these.
On the way back to the city we stopped at another site with ruins. It has not had any restoration done.

The 7 headed snake is always present at entrances
As we entered the city we saw a couple of missionaries standing outside of an LDS chapel advertising free English lessons.

We introduced Sam to one of the elders. They exchanged phone numbers.
