A REALLY BIG RICE FIELD, A BEAUTIFUL LAKE, AND MORE TEMPLES

Johnny had to be with his family today, so he sent Yogi as our guide. Yogi was very nice, but not as personable and knowledgeable as Johnny.
View of the swimming pool from our balcony
Yogi picked us up at 0800 and after a 90 minute drive we arrived at the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. Much bigger than the one we saw yesterday!

They have small temples throughout the rice fields

Pura Ulundanu Beratan temple is on Lake Beratan, another beautiful volcanic lake.

Taman Ayun Temple is in the Royal Family Garden

The women carry the offerings on their heads
because they cannot go below waste level

On the way to Tanah Lot, the famous temple on the beach, we passed through a village that was having a temple festival, so we saw all the people parading to it.

In preparation for a big festival on Friday, many stores were selling various decorations made from palm leaves and bamboo.

TANAH LOT

The sunsets are supposed to be stunning, but there were too many clouds.

The Muslim girls with enamored with tall Hank!

She was NOT about to give Jim the time of day!
On the way back to the hotel we saw this tail section of an old DC-10 on top of a shop.

Hot and tired, we just had dinner in the hotel restaurant.
