ANOTHER SOBERING REMINDER
We woke up this morning to clouds but no
rain. First thing on the agenda was Miyajima Island and its beautiful “floating” 0-Tori Gate. The tide was out so we were able to see it up close.
A 45 minute ferry ride took us to the Peace Garden where we were able to reflect on the events of 6 August 1945, the day the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
The Itsukushima Shrine complex is nearby.
