ONTO SOUTH KOREA
The ship arrived in Busan, South Korea at
noon, and docked in the container port.
It took us an hour to clear immigration and get off of the ship. Our tour guide, Jinee, picked us up, and we headed to Gyeongju Yangdong Village a Korean cultural village. It took half an hour just to get out of the port, then it was a 1 ½ hour drive to the village.
After spending an hour wandering around the
village we drove to Bulguksa Temple, built in 528. They are getting ready to
celebrate Buddha’s birthday on 22 May, so there were numerous paper lanterns
strung throughout the complex.

Jinee had 3 other places listed on the tour to
visit, but since the ship arrived so late there was no time/light to see them.
We stopped at a noodle shop for some cold noodle soup and pork and even tried
kimchee. We got back to the ship at 2000.
