HOT AND HUMID
Okinawa was the destination today, one place
Jim never made it to on his mission. There are a lot of different things to see
and do here, but we picked two that were nearby.
First was Shurijo castle. All the structures
were destroyed during the battle of Okinawa in World War II, but they have all
been restored/rebuilt.
Jim found a drink dispenser with Mountain Dew! |
Second stop was Shikina-en Garden, where a villa of an old royal family once stood.
There is a poisonous snake that lives here. |
Lastly we took a cab to the downtown area, wandered around the pottery area, then around the main shopping district.

Jim wanted to buy some children’s books to practice reading Japanese so we found a bookstore where he was able to buy 4 books. We eventually found ourselves within site of the ship and walked back to it.
