FOUR DAYS AT SEA!

15 MAY 2010 - DAY 4 OF 4 AT SEA/IT WAS AUTUMN WHEN WE WENT TO SLEEP & SPRING WHEN WE WOKE UP

We crossed the equator this morning around 5 AM, and this afternoon they had a ceremony for the “pollywogs”-those people who crossed the equator for the first time on a ship. Four passengers and two crew were chosen to go through the initiation ceremony and to represent all pollywogs. First they made them kiss the navel of the “baby” after smearing what looked like chocolate sauce all over his belly, then they got smeared with chicken, eggs, Jello, and whipped cream, and had flour pour all over them. It was fun to watch.

Aside from that we did the usual-slept in until 9 AM, ate, cross stitched/read, played trivia, ate, cross stitched/read, played trivia, exercised (I rode on the stationary bike in the fitness room because it is so hot, and I started getting shin splints yesterday), watched “No Reservations” (cute movie), ate, watched “It’s Complicated” which had a dud of an ending, and went to be anticipating land tomorrow.

14 MAY 2010 - DAY 3 OF 4 AT SEA/CHANGING IT UP A BIT

What we did today: slept in until 8 AM, did laundry, ate breakfast, read, played trivia, I laid out in the sun for half an hour, and it was HOT! Ate lunch, read, played trivia, walked/jogged for an hour, cross stitched, ate dinner, went to the comic show.

13 MAY 2010 - DAY 2 OF 4 AT SEA/THE DAYS ARE GETTING LONGER & HOTTER

Today was pretty much ditto of yesterday, other than we didn’t watch a movie.

12 MAY 2010 - DAY 1 OF 4 AT SEA

What we did today: slept in until 8 AM, read, watched “Because I Said So,” read, played a remote control car race, played trivia, ate lunch, read, took a nap, read, played trivia, read, I walked and Jim walked/jogged for an hour around the track, ate dinner, read,. So far I have read six our of seven of the “No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency” books.
NOTE: We have come to the conclusion that the malaria medicine we had to take exacerbated the motion sickness we experienced on Saturday and Sunday, along with making us tired, and causing headaches. The last pills we took were on Monday, and we have been feeling much better the past three days

  1. I'm glad you guys are feeling better! That would be so sad to deal with motion sickness the whole time.
