10 MAY 2010 - LUDERWITZ, NAMIBIA

We woke up this morning docked in the town of Luderwitz, Namibia. It was settled by the Germans, and honestly, it’s hard to understand why anybody would choose to live here. It is a barren, desert area. Somebody discovered a small diamond mine in the mid 1900's, but it didn’t last long because it was so small. Having said that, we just spent four hours walking around, the church being the main attraction, and doing not much of anything else. Everybody was back on the ship early, and we actually left 15 minutes early.

A small whale was hanging out at the entry to the harbor as we left.

This afternoon we read, napped, and walked around the track.
