A NEW COUNTRY, A TEMPLE, A MOSQUE, MORE FALLS & HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!

Paraguay (new country #3) is a pretty poor country with corrupt policeman. Ciudad del Este is said to be the Hong Kong of South America when it comes to shopping and knock offs. Technically we were supposed to pay $160 each for a reciprocity fee to get into Paraguay, but it is a very loose border with no one checking. We hired a cab driver to take us over for a quick look.

Next we visited a Buddhist Temple.

The Itaipu Dam is a huge hydroelectric dam. Unfortunately one cannot see it without paying for a 2 hour tour. Our cab driver told us he couldn't wait for us for 2 hours, and we really didn't want to spend 2 hours seeing it so we settled for some pictures in front of an image of the dam at the visitor's center.

On the way back to our B&B we stopped for a quick shot of the local mosque.

As we were driving back to the B&B the sun came out, and we decided to go back to the Brazilian side of the falls for one last look and a few more pictures.
