After spending yesterday in the cold rain, we looked forward to the flight to Cairns. The flight from Hobart to Sydney was 1 ½ hours, an hour in the Sydney airport, then a 3 hour flight to Cairns. I watched Country Strong on the plane–what a downer movie. The guy at the car rental place told us not to go into the water at the beach due to the small deadly jellyfish that live around here, and to stay away from any other inland water due to crocodiles. Wow. One neat thing...as we were driving to Trinity Beach where we are staying we saw a few cockatoos flying around.
We are staying in 2 bedroom apartment that is on the beach. The bedrooms are quite small, but it has a huge outdoor deck attached to our apartment. There is an outdoor Italian restaurant down the street that provided a yummy dinner.
