LAND OF WATERFALLS
Today the ship sailed down the Geirangerfjord and stopped at the end of the fjord in the small town (population 250) of Geiranger. The views sailing in were amazing, and the number of waterfalls, both large and small are innumerous. Jim was still feeling lousy, but since I had booked a tour he readied his camera and went with me. After taking the tender to the pier we boarded our bus. The bus attempted to go up to Mount Dalsnibba (elevation 4757) which offers a spectacular view of Geirangerfjor, the road was closed halfway up due to remaining snow and ice. We were able to see a snow covered lake before turning back. On the way down we stopped at Flydalsjuvet which had its own beautiful view of the fjord. Then the bus headed up Eagle’s Road on the other side of Geiranger with it’s numerous hairpin turns. We drove to a small lake for a few photos, stopped at a lookout where we could see the Seven Sisters waterfalls, then back to the port. We had a wonderful sunny and warm day.
